This is my favourite Martin luther quote of all times. I remember when I was a child, I shared everything I had with my younger brother and he did same too. One day, he had a biscuit but wouldn't give me, I promised to also not give him when I get mine. I kept to my word when I got mine, he then promised to do the same the next time he got. But I had reasoned that, since he didn't give me once, I also wouldn't give him once, then we'll go back to giving each other again but I was wrong. He refused to give me the next time he had a biscuit and I tried arguing that he made me not to give the last time but he wouldn't have any of it and that's how we kept on not giving each other any form of snacks because we didn't receive the last time till I got tired and started giving him again and surprisingly, when he had, he would just give me without my asking.
Likewise, revenge doesn't make anything better, hate can only spill more hate. If you hate someone for hating you, the person won't turn around to love you. Bringing a dead touch into a dark room won't take away the darkness, but bringing a burning touch would drive away the darkness.
